Time for Regal Treatment: All Aboard Royal Princess!

The Royal Princess – the newest and most spectacular cruise ship from Princess Cruises – is about to set sail, and this is one luxury vessel you will want to experience up close and personal.  Fortunately, we’ve made that easy for you, as we have a variety of dates blocked with group pricing!  Before we tell you about that, let’s take a look at…

The Royal Princess – a ship with an impressive history

Princess Cruises already operates an impressive fleet of 16 modern ships. The new Royal Princess expands their fleet to 17, and is expected to expand their reputation for service excellence and creative design.

The original Royal Princess, already hailed as a classic among cruise critics, became the foundation for the planning of the new Royal Princess.  The designers infused the new Royal Princess with the best of what made the original Royal Princess so appreciated by its passengers, and then brought in plenty of new elements; making it grander, more luxurious, and full of new features to create a truly unique ocean cruise experience.  The new Royal Princess, which becomes the flagship of the Princess fleet, can welcome up to 3,600 passengers.

Even the June 13 christening of this beauty is destined to be spectacular.  As Princess Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, will be just three weeks’ shy of welcoming the birth of her first child into the World, she will also be christening in the Royal Princess in a historic naming ceremony taking place in Southampton in the middle of this month. The ceremony includes traditional British events, such a blessing, and performances by the Royal Marines and Irish Guards – all in preparation for the ship’s maiden voyage on June 16.

What makes The Royal Princess Royal indeed

“More, bigger, and better” are the right words to describe the Royal Princess. She features expanded public areas, more architectural majesty, the latest in safety features, more luxurious dining options than ever, and a host of new activities for the kids in your party. The Royal Princess doesn’t skimp on any of the expected cruise liner amenities, such as lounges, bars, and restaurants, so let’s focus on what makes this ship special.

Expanded Piazza style atrium and dining area

The visual grandeur of the expanded and expansive atrium is incomparable:

You can also take a YouTube 3D tour of the Royal Princess atrium – twice the size of any previous ship’s atrium in the Princess fleet – and its many dining and entertaining venues, which together offer a host of options to unwind or meet up.

The architecture is a compelling blend of old world design and new world elegance, featuring some striking geometry and a pair of dramatic marble spiral staircases.

The atrium is not just a visual treat, but is also the venue for live entertainment and a plethora of culinary hot spots, all combining to make this the social hub of the ship.

The Princess Theater

The Royal Princess features an enhanced theater room, designed for world-class entertainment, and also serving as an extraordinary venue for the signature meetings or events of the kind of group tours we regularly arrange, such as incentive tours, corporate summits, and sales conventions.

Sophisticated LED lighting and a full stage help to create the perfect environment for the ship’s biggest entertainers and for a premium movie experience.

Not your grandmother’s staterooms…

Princess Cruises pulled out the stops when designing the staterooms.  The quality and variety is unparalleled, made even more special with features such as complimentary room service for in-room dining options, 37-inch flat screen televisions (with a generous selection of movies, cable, and satellite programming), marble and granite design elements, showers with adjustable height and hand-held massage shower heads, and many rooms with private balconies.

The stateroom layouts include such appealing options as a min-suite with a separate sitting room, full suites, and even family suites that have two interconnected bedrooms with an adjoining large living room.  To get an in-depth look at the stateroom options, take a YouTube Royal Princess staterooms video tour.

The ocean … from 128 above!

One of the most visually dramatic features of the Royal Princess is its “SeaWalk” — a glass-bottomed walkway that gives you straight-down views of the ocean.  This prime onboard viewing point extends nearly 30 feet beyond the edge of the ship!

Stay fit on board the Royal Princess

For the athletically inclined, there’s a jogging track to help you keep that healthy shape at its best.  Nearby is the ship’s “Center Court” – a multi-sports zone, featuring a circuit of outdoor exercise equipment, table tennis, a tennis court, a volleyball court, a laser shooting range, and more – even a batting cage.

Elsewhere on board, you can find a croquet area, an indoor golf driving range, and a putting green. Staying active between times of relaxation is easy and fun on the Royal Princess.

Movies Under the Stars poolside theater

This popular feature, introduced on other Princess ships, has been expanded to feature a screen double that of any of their other Movies Under the Stars poolside theaters. You can relax poolside, or watch the movie from the fountain pool, which features a tropical island with a mesmerizing light and water show.
