Breathtaking Interlaken Switzerland perfect place for group travel or a romantic spa getaway.
Jungfrau
And we are off in our EuropCar
Day 3 of the Ovation Amazing Trophy Race started in a brand new car compliments of Europcar. No, we didn’t bring it home, but we had so much fun racing through the small towns on our way to Interlaken, Switzerland! The detail that the planners put into this day was nothing short of phenomenal; each car came loaded with a CD full of music that wrapped us in the spirit of Switzerland and a map with typed directions in the rally book. Perfect for anyone who travels to Switzerland. We had so much fun, despite the missed exits and detours, that we even giggled through the round-abouts. That’s something I certainly can’t say about commuting in Kansas City!
Our first destination was an open air museum called Ballenberg, where we were charged with finding items like a Swiss cross and cowbells on the countryside. We were also challenged to hammer nails into a large piece of wood in only three hits (it’s not easy!) and identified unknown plants, spices and tools.
Hotel Victoria Jungfrau
We ended the road rally in Interlaken, Switzerland, a town aptly named for its position between two lakes. After a much needed rest (and a richly deserved Swedish massage) at the beautiful 5 star Hotel Victoria Jungfrau, we caught a cable car to travel through a tunnel with the goal of seeing Jungfrau. I believe that what happened next was nothing short of a miracle! The rain stopped, the sun came out and we were able to see the very top of Jungfrau (pronounced Yung-frow). This is a sight that is very rarely seen. We were so blessed!
Viewing Platform in Interlaken Switzerland
We finished the evening in true Swiss grandeur, enjoying dinner and the entertainment of both an accordion player and yodeler, in an overlook with a glass floor that offered the most magnificent view of the lake below.
